Rate Discount for Energy Star Homes

This discounted rate is available to a residential customer who qualifies for service on Rate 101 and whose home meets the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR® for Homes qualification standards, or equivalent. Qualifying customers pay $.05 per therm less than under otherwise applicable Rate 101.

Upon receiving documentation that a home qualifies, PSNC Energy will assign the customer’s account to Rate Schedule 102.

For homes that use equivalent means to qualify, a registered professional engineer’s statement must be provided that states that the home uses no more energy, on a per square foot basis, than an ENERGY STAR home qualified under current ENERGY STAR for Homes guidelines.
 

How do I qualify?
To qualify, your home must be ENERGY STAR qualified, or meet equivalent requirements.
