Smart $aver® Rebate Program
What is Smart $aver®?
Smart $aver pays cash rebates to residential customers and home builders who install qualifying high efficiency heating and cooling equipment in a new or existing home. It’s just one way Duke Energy is promoting energy efficiency and helping our customers lower their energy costs.

Who Is Eligible for Rebates?
Incentives are paid for qualifying heat pumps or air conditioners installed on or after June 1, 2009 for Duke Energy Carolinas electric residential retail customers residing in a single-family home, condominium, duplex or mobile home. Incentives are paid after the qualified system is installed and operating. The following table outlines the Smart $aver incentive amounts:

Sign Up to Become a Participating Builder
Taking part in this program is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Just follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Become a participating builder.
You are eligible to participate if:
- You are a new home builder serving Duke Energy residential customers in North Carolina.
- You print, fill out and return the Participating Builder Sign-up Form. After completing and submitting the form, you are eligible to receive rebates and will be included in our online search tool of participating builders.
Step 2: Install a qualified high efficiency heating or cooling system.
Incentives are paid for qualifying heat pumps or air conditioners installed for Duke Energy Carolinas electric residential retail customers residing in a single-family home, condominium, duplex or mobile home. Builders complete the application form and submit it to Duke Energy. Qualifying system must be installed and operating before the incentive application is submitted. For additional information, read:

Step 3: Fill out and submit the incentive application and enjoy your rebate.
Complete an incentive application for each qualified installation. Fax completed forms to 1-866-908-4921 or mail to the address on the application instructions.
